Registration of pilgrims: HC issues notice to State and SASB | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, July, 30: In a petition filed by one A.N. Sharma claim to be a President of Shri Amarnath Sewa Dal, Rajpura District, Patiala Punjab seeking grant on spot registration of pilgrims undergoing Amarnath Yatra as per judgment passed by State High Court on April 15, 2005. Justice Sunil Hali of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing after hearing counsels issued notice to State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board through its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and Union of India through Secretary to Govt of India Ministry of Home Affaris New-Delhi, Advocate Rohit Kapoor waived the notices and Court also directed the petitioner’s Counsel that he shall provide a copy of petition to Mr. Rohit Kapoor. In the petition, it has been submitted that the petitioner organization is engaged in organizing annual yatra to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath . The petitioner’s organisation functioning for the last 46 years its main activity relates to organizing yatra to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji situated in Kashmir Valley. It is submitted that Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has introduced new system of registration of yatra. The conditions for registration of yatra that registration of yatri from registration counters established by the J&K Bank in 121 branches located all over the country. The J&K Bank registration counter will issue one yatra form and for every form received from the intending yatries will issued after receiving the registration fees @ Rs 15 per yatra permit form. The petitioner organization prayed for issuance a direction to the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board to grant on spot registration of pilgrims undergoing Amarnath Yatra as per the judgment passed by the High Court on April 15, 2005 and also seeking directions for other facilities.
