Flash floods: Traffic disrupted on Poonch-Chakkan-da-bagh trade route
7/30/2010 10:31:10 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, July, 30:A major portion of the causeway connecting trade route between India and Pakistan near Chakan-da-bagh in frontier Poonch district, was washed away in flash floods on Friday morning following incessant rains in the area.
The portion of the casueway connecting the transit point and the Poonch town caved in from one side disrupting vehicular movement on the trade route.
According to DC Poonch Kuldeep Lal Khajuria, all possible efforts would be made to repair the portion of the causeway at the earliest so as to start the cross LoC bus service and resume the trade. The local army authorities have been informed and a request has been made to them to start repair works. He said the repair works are likely to be completed soon and hopefully the weekly bus service and trade would go on as per the routine schedule.
