4th Semester students boycott Drawing paper: call it out of syllabus | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: 4th Semester students in the subject of Drawing boycotted the paper of external examination and held a protest demonstration before the Board of Technical Education at Vikram Chowk Jammu under the banner of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF).
Students contended that sixty percent of the question paper was out of syllabus. They refused to entertain it and left the examination hall for the office of Deputy Registrar. JJSF leaders also reached the spot to support them.
Led by Pratap Singh Jamwal, state Vice President of JJSF, the angry students gheraoed Deputy Registrar Er. Jatinder Kesar and explained to him that the paper was out of syllabus. Expressing their anger, the students alleged that the paper is set forth and printed in Kashmir where there is neither any regular work being done nor examination held. The alleged that Kashmir based distraction behaved discriminately. The Deputy Registrar agreed to forward the matter to the higher authorities for proper action and hoped that some positive action could be expected within a week’s time.
. JJSF leaders also alleged that there were several instances in the past when out of syllabus papers were set and these had led to protests, demonstrations and boycotts by the students. Protesting students wondered why the concerned department was not serious about the career of the student community in the state. .
