A bridge on cross-LoC route connecting Poonch with Rawlakote in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) collapsed disrupting all traffic on the road.
As per reports, a bridge on Rangar Nallah collapsed on one side on Friday disrupting all traffic on the road. The bridge was washed away due to flash floods in Rangar Nallah near cross-Line of Control (LoC) Trade Centre.

Meanwhile administration has swung into action and they have kicked off repair works on war footings. “Since the road is under GREF, I have talked to the authorities and works have been initiated on war footing”, Deputy Commissioner Poonch KL Khajuria said adding that they will try to open the road within two days. “We will try that the LoC Trade and Bus Service will not affect due to collapse of this bridge”, DDC said.
Custodian of Cross-LoC Trade Rangeet Singh said that they have conveyed the matter of collapsing of bridge to higher authorities and have also requested GREF to make it traffic worthy before Monday. “We have been assured that the bridge will become ready within two days and I think there will no hurdle in the trade”, he added.
Sources said that the bridge was earlier cracked and it was repaired by the authorities. When contacted, Commanding Officer of GREF in Poonch said that though it may take a week to repair it, they will try to open it within two days keeping in view the importance of the road. “We have kicked off work.
