PK concerned over current situation in Valley | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 1: Panun Kashmir (PK) has expressed grave concern on the current situation of Kashmir. Addressing the meeting of Supreme council of Panun Kashmir, its convener Dr Agnishekhar once again reminded the people of India and particularly the present Government to awaken from slumber and shun the ostrich-type attitude. PK has time and again implored with union government and people of India to see the grand design of Pan-Islamic hurricane moving from its fountain head Pakistan and Afghanistan and entrenching itself on the northern frontier of India and making its presence felt in a big way in Kashmir. The demolition and desecration of Bamiyan Buddha; imposing of Jazia on Hindus and Sikhs in Afghanistan and Pakistan; expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir Valley and recent events of sacrilege of hair of Sikhs in Kashmir bears a testimony to the fact how the Islamic Jihad is knocking on the doors of India. The maligning of Armed Forces and encouraging and appeasing of secessionists in the Kashmir has put the valley seemingly in an irretrievable position for central government. The Supreme Council of Panun Kashmir appeals to all Kashmiri Pandit Organization in India and across the globe to make a consolidated effort on ideological front and speak in one voice for achieving the geo-political goal for more than seven Lakh Kashmiri Pandits that is creation of a separate Homeland with Union Territory status in Kashmir Valley. Panun Kashmir is of the firm view that union government's policy of blunders, appeasement and vacillations is going to endanger sovereignty and integrity of India. It appears that government of India is going to walk an extra mile in granting a political dispensation to majority community of the Valley even at the cost of national interest. Kashmiri Pandits have in the moments of crisis time and again shown political sagacity in its history of repression, genocide and exodus. Panun Kashmir is of the firm opinion that "the community has shown time and again unanimity in its ideological commitment to creation of Homeland in Kashmir Valley". The supreme council expresses its concern on the thinking and attitude of the polity, judiciary, executive and media of this nation. The cases of genocide and massacre of Kashmiri Pandits be it at Wandhama, Nadimarg, Chha-ttisinghpora or Sangrampora are yet to see light of justice in this country, but on the other hand encounters involving terrorists, anti-national elements are monitored and intervention by highest court of land is done. |
