Kissan union alleges ramped corruption in de-silting of irrigation canals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, August: alleging ramped corruption in de-silting, distributaries and irrigation channels and in the process of issuance of job cards, making payments against work done under NERGA in the state, the all J&K Kissan Union has demanded a high level enquiry to un-earthen this multi crore rupee scam and punish the culprits pocketing the public money. This was said on the 11th Annual Executive Meeting of all J&K Kissan Union (AJKKU) held here and presided over by its chairman Ashok Sharma, passed several resolution which include cattle crop insurance on government expense, non conversion of agriculture land and establishment of industry only on waste lands, fixation of support prize for produce of farmers, construction of Kissan Bhawans at block, district and regional level. The other resolutions passed were that the farmers wards should strive to adopt farming as profession, irrigation canals be improved, financial allocation leak be stopped by using RTI as tool, use of chemicals be stopped in phased manner, rain harvesting techniques be adopted to conserve water and improve ground water level, committees at panchyat level be formed to make people aware of latest technology transfer means on ground awareness camps on village level, cooperative based. Among the executive members who participated in the meeting were J.L Bhagat, YP Jamwal, Onkar Sani, RR Bali, RN Khajuria, Yeshpal Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Mohd Sabar Jangir, Nresh Sharma, Dinesh Singh Samyal Vinod and others also present.
