| Development of Mata Bala Sundri Shrine discussed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Aug 1:
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua Sanjeev Verma convened a meeting to discuss the development of Mata Bala Sundri Shrine situated in Tehsil Billawar of Kathua District.
Representatives of Shri Mata Bala Sundri Prabandhak Committee apprised DDC Kathua about the problems being faced by the pilgrims during the yatra.
The committee members put forth the demands related to security, repair of alternate road to the shrine, installation of adequate number of water points enroute the shrine, besides uninterrupted power supply.
Responding to the demands, DDC Kathua directed Executive Engineer PDD to install 63 KV transformer at Mata Bala Sundri Bhavan. He also directed Assistant Commissioner (D) to ensure the metlling work on alternate road from Billawar to shrine with the help of locals under NREGA.
Verma also passed instructions to DFO Billawar to ensure plantation along the path with the help of horticulture and floriculture department. He passed instructions to the AC (D) to start construction of stairs from Bhavan to Talaab. Verma directed the Assistant Superintendent of Police Kathua to review the security arrangements in the area. He also directed to AC (D) to make another bathroom at Mata Bala Sundri base camp. He also directed PHE Department to ensure adequate water supply during the yatra.
DFO Billawar, Assistant Commissioner (R), Assistant Commissioner (D), Executive Engineer PDD, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kathua, District Floriculture Officer Kathua, AEE PWD, members of Shri Mata Bala Sundri Prabandhak Committee were also present in the meeting.
