Strong steps needed to deal Kashmir situation: Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 1: Strong steps and administrative skills are needed in troubled valley of Kashmir to retrieve the situation from the prevailing turmoil which is the outcome of the follies and dubious approach of the National Conference-Congress Coalition. These observations were made by the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta while interacting with elderly persons and social activists who had come to see the BJP leader to share their concern over the sad developments in the Valley of Kashmir. Prof Gupta said that keeping in view the past experience, BJP had expressed its doubts and apprehensions when Congress rejoined hands with the National Conference after contesting 2008 Assembly Elections separately with quite different pledges and promises with the electorates. But the lust for power, the Congress had re-union with the National Conference which wanted limited ties with New-Delhi just to have funds, rations, security and all sorts of other assistance but not the free flow of Indian Constitution and laws. In the prevailing situation it is moral duty of the Congress, both in the State as also at the Centre to withdraw from this Coalition or act. But it was ridiculous that the Congress was maintaining silence even when Kashmir is in flames and its Ministers and leaders have confined themselves to their places instead of performing in the troubled areas of Kashmir. BJP leader said that in this hour of crisis, it should be the duty of all the nationalists to build up a strong public opinion to force the men in authority to act or quit, the security forces should be given the free hand to deal with vandalism and operators of various kinds of evil designs emanating from across the border/Line of Control. As far as unity and integrity of the country, Prof Gupta maintained that our forces are capable to meet any threat. It is only the certain politicians who are making a mess of the situation and in the due course of time the nationalist India would not tolerate such dubious characters, he asserted.
