| World Breastfeeding week commenced | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 1: Breastfeeding Week was inaugurated in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu today by the Medical Superintendent Dr Subash Bhagat.
The programmes would start tomorrow formally. The programmes to be held for seven days in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar include Exhibition, poster competition, quiz competition, seminars and awareness lectures for general public and patients coming to the Hospital. The World Breastfeeding Week organised in the Hospital from August 1 to 7 is being supervised by the Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Arun Sharma.
Every year the first week of August is celebrated as 'World Breastfeeding Week (WBW). The objective is to focus attention on some important aspect of protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding.
This year the theme is 'Breastfeeding - Just 10 Steps! The Baby Friendly Way'.
