8/2/2010 10:02:50 PM
AGENCIES
New Delhi, Aug 2 : The water-level in the Yamuna river has increased significantly after water from Hathini Kund Barrage in Haryana was discharged. The authorities, however, said there was still no possibility of flood. ''Around 95,000 cusecs water was released from Hathini Kund Barrage three days ago. It takes 72 hours to reach Delhi,'' B S Tomar, Chief Engineer, Flood Control Department said today. ''Due to the release of water, the water-level at a bridge at east Delhi's Gandhinagar area has reached 204.28 metre mark, while the danger mark is 204.83 metre,'' he added. ''Some more water has been released leading to fast waves for next few hours, but there is no danger of flood at this point of time,'' the official informed.
