| Vishal, Kuldeep win, mixed day for Kamal | | 20th State Billiards and Snooker Championships | |

JAMMU, August 02: Vishal Abrol, Kuldeep Sharma and Sumesh Turki won their respective matches while Kamal Rohmetra had mixed fortunes on the opening day of quarterfinals league round of senior snooker in the 20th State Billiards and Snooker Championships underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
Valley cueist, Fahad Handoo, who lost both his ties, became victim of Kamal’s anger in the second match. Earlier he missed on potting to surrender before Sumesh Turki. Sumesh defeated Fahad 3-2 winning the decider 57-42.
Kamal made a bad beginning in the league round when he lost to Kuldeep Sharma in straight frames. However, he compensated his loss in the next match beating Fahad rather easily 3-0.
Vishal Abrol also made a winning start making it a 3-1 win over Nikhil Kapahi. In the fourth frame, Vishal did not allow Nikhil to even touch the double figure mark.
Meanwhile, in remaining two pre-quarterfinal matches played late yesterday evening, Jaideep Manocha and Vishal Abrol emerged winners.
