| Amandeep murder: Contempt notice issued to Nagar Singh, Ors | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 2: In a contempt petition filed by prosecution seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against Choudhary Nagar Singh, Choudhary Rakesh Singh and Choudhary Jatinder Singh, presently lodged in jail for their willful contemptuous behaviour and conduct during the proceedings before the Court on July 22, 2010.
In the contempt petition, it has been submitted that on July 22, 2010 when the Amandeep Singh murder was listed for arguments on Charge in the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, the alleged contemnors jointly and more particularly Choudhary Nagar Singh created ugly scene in the court premises during the course of hearing of their case by leveling serious allegations against the Presiding Officer and by interrupting the Court proceedings.
The scene created by the contemnors was witnessed by large number of persons, including the staff of Court, advocates and various other persons.
It was further alleged in the contempt petition that Choudhary Nagar Singh used unparliamentarily language towards Court and while leaving the court room after being directed by the Court, the said contemnor and Rakesh Singh openly abused the Presiding Officer whereas the contemnor Jatinder Singh joined them. Prosecution prayed for initiation contempt proceedings against these three persons.
Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu, Ashok Kumar Shan today issued notices to the Choudhary Nagar Singh through Supt Jail and fixed August 19, 2010 for arguments. --- (JNF) |
