Work on widening of Dhar Road reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Aug 2: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan, reviewed the progress of shifting of utilities by Department of Public Health Engineering, EM&RE, PWD and GREF involved in widening of Dhar Road from Domail to Slathia Chowk (Km 130-129) here today Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, R.R Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, H.H. Dutt, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, S. Gurvinderjeet Singh, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, EM&RE, representatives of GREF and officers of Revenue and Municipality attended the meeting. Various issues pertaining to different departments including shifting of PHE pipes, High Tension and Low Power Tension electric lines, construction of boundary wall in Deputy Commissioner’s Office and Court Complex, shifting of War Memorial and existing workshops near Domail Chowk, were reviewed in detail. Addressing the meeting, the District Development Commissioner stressed upon the executing agencies to work in a coordinated manner to get the utilities shifted within scheduled period thereby paving way to complete widening of the road within the stipulated time by the GREF. Khan exhorted upon the GREF authorities to expedite the pace of execution of widening work in such a manner that it is to be completed without any further delay. He also directed the Tehsildar, Udhampur to prepare the layout plan of the identified alternate sites of shifting of existing workshops from Domail Chowk in consultation with Executive Engineer, PWD for its submission to government for approval. Similarly, the DDC instructed the Executive Engineer PHE, M&RE to shift utilities pertaining to their respective departments within a fortnight.
