Flock of 38 sheep washed away | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 2: Due to alleged negligence of NHPC-Sewa Hydel Project, Bani, a flock of thirty-eight sheep was washed away today. The incident occurred at about 10 am when a shepherd Ghulam Nabi was grazing his sheep in a field- Gatti, Bani. “I was grazing my sheep on the banks of Sewa river when suddenly its water level increased in which all my sheep washed away”, said Nabi . Taking a serious note, ex-deputy speaker Hyder Malik demanded compensation for the loss caused due to negligence of the NHPC authority. In a complaint to the administration he alleged that before opening water barriers authority should give warning signal. Meanwhile, acting over the complaint, SDM Bani RK Sharma has ordered inquiry into the incident. SHO Bani has been en-thrusted the onus of the inquiry who has to submit his report within three days.
