Saroori lays foundation of Kuriya-Keshwar road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Aug 3:Minister for Roads & Buildings, G M Saroori today laid foundation stone of Kuriya-Keshwar road. The 15 km long road will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.66 crore. Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, Saroori said that on completion of this prestigious project a vast population of the area would be benefited, adding these people are presently confronting multiple hardships due to inadequate road communication. Minister said that the Government has embarked on a massive development programme especially in R&B sector, which he underlined as one of the most important sector. The aim, he said is to augment road connectivity for giving fillip to the state’s economy. Minister said that Rs 400 crore have been incurred under PMGSY during the past one year on the construction of various vital roads in different areas of the State with the collective efforts of Forest, Revenue and R&B Departments. He said this shows the commitment of the government to scale up new heights of development in the State. During the tour, Saroori also inaugurated a Forest Sale Depot at Chatroo. He said that locals would benefit from this Sale Depot as timber would be readily available to the consumers facilitating construction of dwelling structures.
