| DCC holds meet, discuss present situation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 3: A meeting of District Congress Committee, Jammu Urban, was held here at PCC HQ. Jammu to discuss the organistion activities and prevailing situation of the state.
The meeting was presided over by Om Chopra, ex-MLA and President DCC and attended by functionaries of DCC, Block and ward presidents. Senior leaders of PCC Ravinder Sharma-MLC, spokesperson PCC, Amolak Singh and Kanta Bhan, general secretaries, PCC also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed the prevailing situation in the state and complemented the people of the state for showing restraint and maintaining brotherhood, despite provocations from certain quarters. The meeting appealed to the people to keep watch on the activities of mischievous and anti-social elements and defeat any such attempt to disturb the traditional harmony. The meeting also appealed to the people at large to help restore peace in the state and to end the violence and loss of human lives in the valley.
The meeting also reviewed the organisational affairs and measures to strengthen the party at the polling booth and ward levels and also discussed to hold a workers convention in near future to deliberate on various issues of the organization and the problems of people with the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee.
