BJP takes serious note of turmoil in valley, says Omar should quit.
8/3/2010 11:31:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 3: Addressing a press conference party spokesperson Advocate Ramesh Arora said that history is repeating itself, and Omar Abdullah is following the path and ideology of his grand father Sheikh Abdullah in 1953. Congress did not trust Maharaja Hari Singh but reposed confidence in the Sheikh. This mistake was rectified in 1953 after arresting and deposing him. Congress repeated the same mistake in previous election by saying that it would give conditional support to NC if Omar becomes the Chief Minister.
Arora said that Omar Abdullah wanted to finish the unfinished task of his grandfather. This is reflected in his statement to the press given after his meeti8ng with the prime minister. He said that not economic but political package was required for the State, and that he did not know who was causing disturbances in Kashmir as there were a number of groups operating there. Ramesh Arora condemned this statement and said it is law and order problem created by secessionists and those political parties and persons who have remained out of power. He said that Congress should immediately intervene, withdraw its support. The State Chief Minister has no right to continue in office if his government cannot identify the persons behind the present turmoil, he added.
Ramesh Arora demanded registration of FIR against Mehbooba Mufti under section 186 and 342 RPC for locking secretariat gate. He said if BJP State President, senior leaders and MLAs can be arrested under section 107-51 CRPC on 3rd July, 2010 on the day of Jammu bandh, why Mehbooba Mufti should not be arrested for the grave crime? This discriminatory attitude is responsible for the whole problem. PM’s invitation to her to take part in All Party Meet at the instance of CM was a blunder. If chief minister is not clear who the mischief mongers are, then why was Mehbooba invited through PM? Her declining PM’s invitation has lowered the prestige of the head of the government. Arora stressed that Congress has to rectify its mistake as in 1953, and BJP will not allow it to happen again.

BJP State spokesperson Dr. Nirmal Kamal, who also addressed the Press Conference, said Omar Abdullah has failed in delivering the goods. He could not come up to the expectations of the people. Congress leaders, particularly hailing from Jammu are conspicuous by their silence on the situation.
Dr. Nirmal Kamal further said that the people of J&K State are suffering because of wrong policies of the Congress party. All the three regions of the state are being discriminated against in one way or the other. The Congress, PDP and NC are equally responsible for deteriorating situation. Kashmir is burning; loot, arson and mayhem are on increase and the present government has completely failed to control the same. Congress leaders who have adopted silence are basically responsible for the present crisis.
