Kashmir turmoil: Railway employees 'migrate' to Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 3:Nearly 100 employees of the railway department have 'migrated' to this winter capital of the state in the wake of the tense situation prevailing in Kashmir, sources said here today. “The railway employees, who were staying in Kashmir along with their families, have “migrated” from the Valley and will reach here to proceed to their native places,'' official sources said. Sources said due to the turmoil in Kashmir, the families would be shifted to Jammu in special buses while all arrangements had been made for them at the Jammu Tawi railway station. '' Facilities, including medical, lodging and food will be provided to the railway department members along with their families during their halt at Jammu, '' they added. '' A special bogie will be arranged in Jhelum Express for the employees going to Delhi while others will also be leaving accordingly,'' they added. Protestors in Kashmir yesterday tried to damage and burn the railway track in Budgam following which, the employees, planned to move from the Valley to the safer places. Curfew in the Kashmir Valley entered the fifth day today where 22 people have been killed and over 500 injured, including 200 security forces personnel in violence since last Friday.
