Better services to people should be officers’ prime concern: Shabir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, AUG 3: Minister of State for Power and Consumer Affairs &Public Distribution, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan, today convened a meeting of officers of CA &PD and representatives of oil and LPG companies at Summer Sectt., Jammu to review the status of availability of essential commodities in various sale outlets of Jammu Division. Among others the meeting was attended by Director CA&PD, Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Controller, CA&PD, Assistant directors of all districts of Jammu Division and representatives of Indian Oil & LPG Companies. The meeting was informed that over 9,69,557 APL and BPL families are being provided 2,70,110 qtls of food grains in the region @ 35 kg per family per month. The Minister was informed that at present sufficient stock of foodgrains is available with the department to cater to the requirements of rationees of the region. The departmental main supply stores are presently having 37,508 qtl of wheat, 80,813 qtl rice and 10,146 qtl of sugar for further distribution to the consumers. He also told that 95% of the total of APL and BPL new ration cards have been prepared and provided to the rationees in Jammu Division to further streamline the public distribution system. The Director, CA&PD, Mr. Parvez Ahmed Malik, informed the meeting that supply of additional rice quota has been started to the four districts of the region i.e Ramban, Reasi, Poonch and Kishtwar as per decision taken in the previous meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for CA&PD.
