| 22 Natrang Artists win National certificates | | | Jammu 4th of August, 2010
Twenty-two Natrang artists were awarded National certificates by the National School of Drama, New Delhi for their participation in the ‘Theatre-In-Education’ workshop which was held at Natrang Jammu. The certificates were presented by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur at a brief function held here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. On the occasion Balwant Thakur complimented the winners of the National certificates and expressed hope that they will continue to bring glory for Jammu. It may be recalled that a ten day specialized exclusive workshop with the motive to introduce the concept of Theatre in Education in Jammu & Kashmir was organized by Natrang in collaboration with National School of Drama, New Delhi. Three top experts of NSD which included Dr. Aasha Singh of ‘Galli Gali Sim Sim’ of Pogo channel fame, Suwarn Rawat and Dipender Rawat of TIE Company, New Delhi conducted this highly professional training in which the latest developed techniques of human development were imparted and introduced to the participants. Natrang is planning to start a full-fledged ‘Theatre-in-Education’ cell which will be responsible to introduce theatre in schools of Jammu & Kashmir. In the second phase of the ongoing training programme, a theatre production for children will be produced in collaboration with National School of Drama and same will be staged possibly in all most all the major schools of J&K, thus bringing a new theatre renaissance in J&K state. Those who were awarded certificates included, Naveen Chopra, Neeraj Kant, Sumeet Sharma, Bodh Raj, Sumit Sharma, Renu Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Verma, Pankush Verma, Rahul Singh, Mohd. Yaseen, Gaurav Jamwal, Tajasvi Sharma, Bela Thappa Richa Sharma, Romilla Besnet, Sona Mehar, Rajni Bhatti, Suraj Prakash, Aman Thappa, , Amarpreet Kandhari and Gauri Thakur.
