| KP relief holders hold demonstration | | | Early times Report
Jammu, Aug 4: Displaced Kashmiri Pandit (KP) relief holders hold massive protest demonstration in front of relief commissioner office, canal road against the callous attitude of the J&K government for net increasing the relief amount. Protestors were demanding enhancement of cash relief to the leaders of the community while addressing said, that the price have escalated up to the skies, and Kashmiri Pandit relief holders are given a petty amount to feed their families. The present amount given as the relief has overcome very difficult to make both the ends meet. They said most of the diseases like diabetes; blood pressure, thyroid, and depression have engulfed many members of the community. Medical expenses have risen sharply. From the meager amount which is being presently given to the relief holders it has become awfully difficult to carry on the education of the children. Even the price of the essential commodities have become unaffordable to pay. The malnutrition, due to lack of balanced diet, under the absence of genuine amount of relief is quite visible form the faces of the displaced school going children. Government has always adopted approach in mitigating the problems of the relief holders. Relief holders were expecting that relief would be enhanced considerably keeping present market rates into consideration played with the relief holders every time. Instead of giving healing touch, the authorities are adding salt to the wounds of displaced Kashmiri Pandit relief holders. Relief holders also appealed to all community brethren to extend their support in highlighting the demands of relief holders which comprise a big section of the community.
