Arun’s 10-day coaching camp concludes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, August 04: A 10-day special coaching camp, organised by international footballer, Arun Malhotra for young boys of Jammu, concluded today with the distribution of sports material among the 25 campers at University of Jammu (JU) grounds, here. The sports material, including footballs, handed over the campers by Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, who was special guest. A friendly match between Vice-Chancellor’s XI and Director Sports XI marked the end of first of its kind coaching activity in Jammu. Earlier, speaking to the campers, Prof Bhau encouraged the boys advising them to follow the path of son of the soil, Arun Malhotra, who being one of them, played for the country. “Likewise last year, the camp was a success with all 25 selected boys took keen interest in learning the basics of the game. During the camp, stress was laid on telling boys how to warm-up, cool down and most importantly stretching to relax the body after hardwork in the ground,” in an interaction, Arun told Sports & Allied News. Going through the performance of the boys in the camp, Arun has spotted the talent which, he said, can be groomed into professional footballers. “At least five boys in this year’s camp have the potential to groom as professionals. They are Sahil Dogra, Gautam Thakur, Rahul Kumar, Aman Salgotra and Rohit Kalsotra. I have advised these boys to continue working hard to achieve their ultimate goal of find place in top clubs of the country through exposure at the national level,” maintained Arun. An Afro-Asian silver medalist, Arun was assisted by Johny Kumar, Sandeep and Arun Jasrotia in this camp. He was also supported by Rajesh Bhagat of Engineers Club, Sundershan Gupta and Narinder Kumar.
