| Udhampur to become model town: says MLA Mankotia | | | Early Times Report

Balwant Singh Mankotia, state president JKNPP and member legislative assembly today inaugurated Primary School building at W. No 17 Udhampur. Hundreds of people from ward gathered in the premises of the school. Addressing the gathering Mankotia said that since 1978 this school was running in rented building. Rs. 4.00 lacs have been spent on its construction. Zonal Education Officer Mohd. Musa Khan thanked Mankotia on the occasion. Shamim Akhtar, Ex. Councilor W.No. 17 demand a playing ground, protection wall and water tank for the school. MLA Mankotia announced Rs. 1.25 lacs out of his constituency development fund for this purpose.

Later, Mankotia went round W. No. 17 along with the officers of PHE, PDD, UEED, Local body and inspected various ongoing works in the ward. He announced Rs. 1.50 lacs out of his CDF for the construction of a lanes and drains in different localities. He directed PHE department to regularize the water supply in W. No. 17. He instructed the UEED officer to start the construction work in different nallahs for which required funds had been released...
As per release MLA Mankotia said that very soon Udhampur town would be developed as a model town. Instructions have been issued to the concerned to prepare detailed project report of the department by the ending of August. Final meeting with DHV, a Private Co. has been fixed at Jammu and after that the project will be submitted to ADB for funding.
