| Congress Committee Vijaypur reviews situation in valley | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, August 04: A meeting of Bloc Congress Committee Vijaypur was held at Vijaypur to discuss the various problems of the area and prevailing situation of the state.
The meeting was presided over by the Thakur Hari Singh, Vice President PCC and attended by functionaries of BCC including Dr. Butti Ram, Rachpal Singh, Raghubir Sharma, Vijay Choudhary, Yash Pal Sharma, Choudhary Bhagwan Singh, Rattan Lal Verma and others.
The meeting mourned the demise of Gouri Shankar Bhagat, ex-MLA; two minutes silence was observed in his memory and prayers were made for peace to the departed soul.
The meeting discussed the prevailing situation in the state and complemented the people of the state for showing restraint and maintaining brotherhood, despite provocations from certain quarters. The meeting appealed to the people to keep watch on the activities of mischievous and anti- social elements and defeat attempts to disturb traditional harmony. The meeting also appealed to the people at large to help restore peace in the state and to end the violence and loss of human lives in the valley.
The meeting urged the government to solve the problem of frequent power cuts and non availability irrigation water. The meeting urged for expediting the developmental activities in the neglected areas of the area and demanded that for the people of BPL category, rules and norms should be made lenient so that they could get the benefit of the scheme.
