BJP MLAs from J&K to meet PM today | | | NEW DELHI: All the 11 BJP members of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly led by the State party chief Shamsher Singh arrived here today to try and meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the volatile situation in the Kashmir Valley. Indications are that the BJP legislators would ask the Prime Minister to revoke his party's support to Omar Abdullah Government. Asked about their plan, the former J&K BJP president and senior MLA Ashok Khajuria told this correspondent here on Wednesday evening that the MLAs would like the Centre to intervene to redeem the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and thus they would try to meet the Prime Minister along with the senior Central party leaders like LK Advani tomorrow around forenoon. Significantly, today's statement by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram was made in the Lok Sabha after Advani had intervened in Zero Hours discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday asking Home Minister to speak in the wake of concern shown by Opposition members, mainly from the BJP and the Left, about the serious situation in the Kashmir Valley. Obviously, the BJP is not quite satisfied with Chidambaram's today's lengthy statement in the Lok Sabha and the arrival of the party MLAs from Jammu to meet Manmohan Singh signifies their desire for further Central intervention to bring order and peace to the Valley.
