| Consider promotion of 18 DySPs: HC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 5:The High Court today directed the government to consider promotion claim of 18 DySPs . Justice Hakim Imtiaz Husain issued the order in a writ petition filed by one Hardeep Singh Gill and 17 others DySPs .
The petitioners have sought promotion on the basis of a petition filed Rajinder Kumar Bhardwaj and ors, which was decided by Single Judge on November 20, 1998 and upheld by the Division Bench on February 11, 2010.
The court issued notice to the State of Jammu & Kashmir through Financial Commissioner Home and Director General of Police J&K. After hearing the petitioners the court directed the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners for promotion within a period of eight weeks.
Court further said that while considering their cases, the respondent shall also take note of the directions given by the writ Court dated November 20, 1998 title Rajinder Kumar Bhardwaj & Ors and upheld by the Division Bench vide judgment dated February 11, 2010.
The petitioners have submitted that the they applied for the post of Sub-Inspector against the advertisement notice issued by the IGP but were recruited as ASI in the year 1979. They have sought seniority on the basis of the 1982 batch and also further promotion. JNF
