| Jr Billiards: Jaswinder, Miyan among 6 enter QFs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 5: Jaswinder Singh and Miyan Bashir of Srinagar among six cueists today qualified for the second round of quarterfinals in junior billiards event in the 20th State Billiards and Snooker Championships being held at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
Two other scheduled matches in the same event could not be completed due to power failure at the stadium. In all, 16 entries were received in the junior billiards event by the organizers, J&K Billiards and Snooker Association.
Other four qualifiers for the quarterfinals were Vikas Gupta, Gagandeep Singh, Ishan Choudhary and Janu Gupta.
Meanwhile, as per the organizers, the quarterfinals and semi-finals shall be played tomorrow. It will be followed by the senior billiards competitions starting from August seven.
The Detailed Results: First Round: Jaswinder Singh bt Aditya Sharma 2-0 (50-33, 50-47); Vikas Gupta bt Abhi Gupta 2-1 (46-50, 50-44, 50-31); Gagan Deep Singh bt Rajesh Singh 2-0 (50-45, 50-24); Ishan Chowdhary bt Akshay Mahajan 2-0 (50-31-50-28); Janu Gupta bt Gurdev Singh 2-0 (50-42, 50-32); Miyan Bashir bt Nitish Mahajan 2-1 (43-50, 50-08, 50-41).
