Omar becoming a security threat: Bhim | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 5: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council today expressed shock over the ignorance of P. Chidambaram, Union Home Minister who has tried to argue a lost case of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who has turned a security threat. The Panthers Party chief wondered on the so-called ‘intelligence input’ he has been receiving from Kashmir that the ISI militants have been firing on security forces from the stone-pelting crowds in the Valley. This statement may be the lost argument that a senior advocate namely, Chidambaram used to protect his worthy friend, Omar Abdullah. The two speeches made in two Houses of Parliament by the Union Home Minister are misleading and based on concocted stories without any basis just to address BJP as if Omar Abdullah is the only saviour of national interest. His appeal to the parents of the so-called stone-pelters has become infructuous for the reason that the mothers have themselves taken up stones to express their wrath against the corrupt, authoritarian and unmindful government in the state. Prof. Bhim Singh in a rejoinder to Mr. P. Chidambaram asked what is the ‘issue’ of Jammu and Kashmir which he repeatedly mentioned in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and what is his ‘keys to solutions’. Does he intend to compromise over the sovereignty of the country vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir. What is the political process he has in mind vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir and with whom he has desired to hold a dialogue. His advice to the security forces to use ‘restrained’ and at the same time asking them to show ‘courage and fortitude’ are contradictory and prove that the Home Minister has not been able to apply his mind to the situation in J&K and all his arguments in support of his friend, Omar Abdullah at all costs may cost heavily the national interest. Prof Bhim Singh urged Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh to take J&K in his own hands in the interests of national security, sovereignty and composite culture of J&K.
