Southern Sector face NWS to defend title today | 19th Inter-Sector CRPF Hockey Tournament | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 5: Title holders, Southern Sector shall take on the same opponent they defeated last year, North Western Sector (NWS) to defend trophy in the 19th edition of the Inter-Sector CRPF Hockey Tournament underway at KK Hakhu Stadium, here tomorrow. Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Southern Sector trounced Western Sector by three goals to one. Though Tosil Ekka brought in the first blood brining Western Sector 1-0 up, still Southern Sector played like champions and turned the score around making it a 3-1 win. D Lakra (28th), skipper, K Loken Singh (42nd) and Samir Kindo (66th) scored one goal each for the winners. In the second semi-final, NWS registered a 5-2 win over Bihar Sector. The second half of the match witnessed six goals as compared to just one scored by NWS in the first half of 35 minutes. Balkar Singh struck twice for the winners sounding the board in 45th and 53rd minutes while Satinder Singh (22nd) and Prasad Bhengra (37th) were other scores. Now, in the hard-liner, to be played between the losers of semi-finals, Bihar Sector shall take on Western Sector at 6 am tomorrow. The final has been scheduled at 4 pm, followed by the valedictory function of the five-day long event of the CRPF.
