Stage set for Mandi Yatra
Security, other arrangements finalized

Rajouri, Aug 5: The stage is set to conduct annual Buddha Amarnath Yatra starting from August 12 and district administration Rajouri and Poonch have almost finalised all the arrangements. Security has also been intensified in the area whereas residents of Mandi area are enthuastic to receive heavy rush of pilgrim tourists.
As Budhha Amarnath Ji Yatra Committee has already finalised the dates of the Yatra, district administration has also finalised the arrangements. “We have finalized arrangements of the Yatra”, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, KR Khajuria told here, adding that he has also written to police for intensifying security arrangements and they are doing their job very well.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch along with Senior Superintendent of Police also reviewed the arrangements and security situation on Tuesday and they have also taken the local residents in confidence for successfully holding this prestigious yatra.
Though the function is purely religious, it has also importance from tourism point of view. Sources said that lakhs of Yatries are visiting Mandi during the Yatra and they are giving huge economy to the residents besides is boosting tourism in the area. “Tourism is getting boost with this Yatra and it is also economic booster for the area”, DDC Poonch said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Budha Amarnath Mandir is an ancient Shiva temple located at the confluence of two gushing streams namely the Nallah Gagri and the Pulsta Nadi. It is situated near Mandi, which is about 20 kilometers from border district headquarter Poonch.
