DGP visits North Kashmir, reviews security bandubast

Srinagar, Aug 5: The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today reviewed security situation in North Kashmir districts of Baramulla and Kupwara. He chaired separate meetings at these district headquarters wherein officers from police and other security agencies participated.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), Farooq Ahmed, Special Commissioner, North Kashmir, Mohammad Syed Khan, Special IGP (North Kashmir), Pankaj Saxena, DIG Baramulla, Muneer Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commissioners, Senior Superintendents of Police of respective districts also participated.
Khoda stressed upon the officers and men of Jammu and Kashmir Police to face the situation with great fortitude so that peace is restored at the earliest. He enjoyed upon the police and other security agencies to take all possible steps for restoring law and order in the affected areas.
The DGP called for maintaining maximum restrain while dealing with the challenging situation and to ensure protection of life and property of common people. He also stressed for police-public meetings at local levels to redress the genuine grievances of the people in their jurisdictions. He directed that during the emerging situation it should be ensured that common people are not put to any inconvenience. The meeting was given a detailed brief about the security bandobast made in the north Kashmir.
During the meetings, Khoda directed the DIG, (North Kashmir) who is also Chairman, Police recruitment Board Baramulla-Kupwara districts to complete the recruitment process in the North Kashmir as early as possible.
Later, on his return in the afternoon, Khoda visited the police hospital, Srinagar and enquired about the welfare of the police personnel who have been seriously injured during recent clashes and are admitted in the Hospital. He asked the doctors to take all measures for their speedy recovery.
Khoda was accompanied by IGP (Armed), Dilbag Singh, IGP, OSD (PHQ), Arun Kumar, DIG, Armed (Kashmir), Roauf-ul-Hassan, AIG (Welfare) PHQ, Nisha Nathyal, Medical Superintendent and team of doctors of Police Hospital and other police officers.
