| Chib inspects Bakhshi Stadium: Rs.45 lakh being spent in phase-I for its improvement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Aug 5: In view of ensuing Independence Day celebrations, 2010, the Minister for Youth Service & Sports, R. S. Chib, today inspected Bakhshi Sports Stadium and reviewed various renovation and allied works.
Addressing the officers present on the occasion, Chib asked them to redouble their efforts in completing ongoing works by August 12th positively. He stressed for providing comfortable sitting arrangements for the audience.
The Minister said that for further beautification and face-lifting of the stadium, a renovation project is under process and the work will be started soon after the Independence Day celebrations are over. He said that Rs. 45 lakhs would be spent in the first phase for improving pavilion, seating arrangements and proper maintenance of the ground.
During the inspection, the minister was informed that Rs.3 lakhs are being spent for giving face lift to the stadium. Two modern grass cutting machines and four bush cutters have been put into service for maintained and beautification of the ground, the Minister was informed.
