Baig wants to quit as PDP’s MLA | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 5: PDP’s second-time MLA from Baramulla and former Deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, has expressed his desire to tender his resignation as a legislator. Sources said that Baig today sent a letter to PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, asking her to forward his resignation to Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone. According to sources, Baig has written in his letter that he was feeling it difficult to represent his electors in the current circumstances as the “bloodshed” was going on in J&K and there was no political initiative either from the state or from the central government to mitigate suffering of the Kashmiri people. While KNS quoted PDP President Ms Mufti having said that she had not yet received any such letter from Baig, Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone told Early Times that neither he nor his Assembly Secretariat had received any letter or resignation from PDP or the MLA. |
