| DDF alleges irregularities in R&B Div Kishtwar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 6: Doda Development Forum (DDF) has alleged that some of the road construction works being executed by Roads and Buildings (R&B) Divison Kishtwar have been allotted without adhering to any tendering process.
President of the Forum Ghulam Hassan Patigaroo alleged that worked allotted without inviting tenders include Thatri-Cheera Link Road, approximately 2 Kms, Phagsoo-Dadi Kathwa road, length 2 Kms, Circular road via BDO Office Thathri, Thathri to upper Thatri.
He strongly condemned the action of R&B department by allegedly providing safe haven to Executive Engineer R&B Kishtwar by ordering his attachment to Chief Engineer’s Office Jammu.
According to press statement issued here today, President of the Forum Ghulam Hassan alleged that a large scale loot was committed by the said Executive Engineer in connivance with higher authorities in R&B division Kishtwar by ‘selling’ works to various people without adhering to tendering process.
The works worth crores have been allotted at exorbitant rates to several people and money worth crores have been swindled in this whole scam, he added
The press note further said that in this behalf he has already submitted the complaint to Vigilance Organization two months back with affidavit but the concerned agency has not taken any cognizance of the matter in time thus providing ample time to the high officials involved in managing the attachment of the officer there by overlooking the huge losses to state exchequer.
“I made several calls to expedite the investigation but no positive response was shown and instead they advised not to press the complaint on and off because the Vigilance has set procedure for processing the complaints at appropriate time.” Hassan maintained.
DDF president further said that he has made a separate request to Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to make an urgent intervention so that all concerned brought to book.
This he has termed as big blot on the slogans of present government which day in and day out is making hollow slogans of extreme transparency and adhering to codal methods and rules.
But in the present case all norms have been thrown to wind which need the personal intervention of Chief Minister and Chief Secretary as the Vigilance Commissioner has failed to investigate and book the staff involved in this multi crore scam.
