PM urged to announce spl package for calamity hit | | | early times report JAMMU: Haji Nissar Ali, ex-Minister of Social Welfare, today expressed sympathies and condolences to those families who have lost their kiths and kins in the cloudburst in Ladakh region. The cloud burst in the region has so far claimed over 110 lives in Leh district alone. Nissar said that he would soon be visiting Kargil and Leh and help the people in the region in what ever the best way he could be do to relieve them from their current miseries and hardships. Meanwhile, he called upon the Center and State administration to respond to the critical situation immediately and take all possible actions by sending in expert teams with equipments to clear the roads and debris and save and help the marooned and affected people in the Ladakh region. He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for responding to the critical situation and announcing Rs 1 lac compensation for those who lost their lives and Rs 50,000 to those injured in the calamity. He also urged the Prime Minister to announce a special package for repair and rebuilding of the badly mauled infrastructure in the Ladakh region.
