Shooting: KC Public, DPS lead on opening day | | | early times report JAMMU, August 05: Three-day Inter-School Shooting Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association, got underway today at J&K Police Shooting Range, Gulshan Ground, here. The competition was declared open by Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, SS Bali, who was chief guest. Assistant Director DYSS, Ashok Kumar and Incharge sports outdoor of J&K Police, Satyakam Sharma and KS Jamwal were among others present. About 80 young shooters drawn from different schools of Jammu are taking part in the 10 mtrs Air Pistol and Air Rifle events. On the opening day, KC Public School was leading in the Air Rifle in girls section, while Delhi Public School had an upper hand in boys section. It will be during this ongoing three days event that shooters would be selected to form state team taking part in 14th Kumar Surendra Singh All India shooting competition to be held at Faridabad in Uttar Pradesh from October 20 to 25. Prior to this the selected shooters will undergo a 20-day coaching camp to be organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at J&K Police Shooting Range in Jammu most likely from August 10.
