Spl DG CRPF visits injured jawans

JAMMU, Aug 6:
Special Director General, J & K Zone, N K Tripathi, along with IGP Srinagar Dr N M C Asthana, visited the injured troopers and enquired about their well being.
The last one week has seen a great upsurge in violent incidents in various parts of Kashmir valley. The aggressive behaviour of protesters has resulted into a large scale violence, arson and attacks on security forces’ camps.
In the ongoing mayhem in valley there are few instances where armed militants also mingled with stone pelters and resorted to firing due to which about 509 CRPF personnel sustained grievous injuries.
At least 12 CRPF Camps in various parts of the valley were attacked by the stone pelters and protesters clubbed with militant firing.
In one such instance on August 2 last, one constable Om Parakash Singh of
92 Bn at Bommai was fired upon from the crowd resulting in critical bullet injury in his stomach. The injured jawan is undergoing treatment in 92 BH Srinagar.
