| Army follower killed in Poonch encounter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, Aug 6: In an encounter between militants and security forces, one army follower has reportedly been killed while two militants have been trapped in a house in Chiti Bhatti village of Mendher tehsil in district Poonch. The encounter was on till the last reports came in.
Police sources said that on the tip off of presence of militants in Chiti Bhatti village near Sangyote area police and troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles cordoned off the area and offered the militants to surrender but they opened fire in which one follower namely Ruksar Mirza bearing No 541 attached to 38 RR have been killed.
Sources said that the encounter is on and two militants holed up in a house were continuously firing on the troops.
A senior police officer said that he has just received report and he cannot comment about the actual position. |
