VRS of SRTC demand settlement of their dues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 7: SRTC employees, who have taken voluntary retirement, today appealed the government to clear their dues under one time settlement or call them back at their respective posts in SRTC organization. Addressing media persons, All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association Jammu president Dev Raj Bali said it was promised by the management that the settlement of payment will be made within two months but it was unfortunate that after lapse of three months, they had not been paid their dues. “We have taken the VRS vide J&K SRTC order No.150/JKSRTC/MD of 2010 dated 22.1.2010 under the Govt. Golden Handshake / Volunteer Retirement Scheme vide notification Govt, order No.218-F of 2007 dated 16.07.2007 and in this order it was assured by the J&K SRTC that the dues accruing to one who took the VRS would be settled in one time’.” He added that since the government and the management decided to give VRS to nearly 1200 employees to bring the SRTC on the track and about 600-650 employees including 200-250 drivers have taken their VRS only after an assurance by the management that their dues would be cleared in time, six months have elapsed but their dues have not been paid. This has forced the VRS to protest and demonstrate on the roads and in front of the MD’s office.
