Tejaswi best shooter as DPS wins team trophy

JAMMU, Aug 08: Guided by the superb performance from Tejaswi Singh, Delhi Public School (DPS) clinched the team championship trophy in the three-day Inter-School Shooting Championship held under the banner of J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) at Police shooting range, Gulshan ground, here today.
Contested in sub-junior boys Air Pistol .177 event, Tejaswi was adjudged best shooter of the championship.
Now, on the basis of their performance, the 40 promising shooters would undergo coaching in camp being organised from August 16 at the same venue.
“During this camp, the upcoming shooters would be imparted coaching by Balbir Singh, who is presently coach at Jaspal Rana Shooting Academy. He will be assisted by J&K Police coaches, Rajesh Virdhy and Subash Chander. The Association is also expecting the visit of Jaspal Rana during the camp to share his experiences with the state shooters, an office bearer of the JKRA told SAN.
After the coaching camp is over on September two, the Association shall be selecting the state team for taking part in the 14th Kumar Surendra Inter School Championship.
About 80 shooters from different institutions, including those from district Udhampur, took part in this competition held in both boys and girls sections.
