| BRO chief inaugurates Troti bridge | | | Early Times Report
Akhnoor,Aug 8:In order to provide relief to the security personnel in particular and people of Jourian area in general a bridge was inaugurated by Border Roads Organization (BRO) Lt.Gen .MC Badhani ,VSM, Director General Border roads today. The completion of the Troti bridge which was constructed near Jourian planed to be completed by March 2011 but due to consistently efforts of the organization it is to be devoted to the people seven months earlier. Rupees 5 crore 70 lakh was over all expenditure of the bridge. Speaking on the opening ceremony of the bridge DG BRO Badhani said that the bridge would provide great relief to the civilians and the defence personnel deployed beyond Jourian. The village Troti often remained cut off from rest of the part of Akhnoor town during monsoon season. The BRO chief was also flanked by Maj. Gen Rakesh Sharma GOC, 10 Infantary Division, Brigadier S.K Tiwari (Chief Engineer project Sampark ) and various other defence and civil dignitaries. People of the area speaking to the media persons expressed their gratitude to the BRO to get them connected to the rest of the Akhnoor area. Pertinent to mention here that villagers of Troti witnessed various casualties in the absence of the bridge as many lives and property washed away due to flash floods in rivulet. Badhani also ensured people for the construction of more such bridges over rivulet.
