'Common man shouldn't suffer in current J-K situation' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 8:Amid reports of shortage of medicines and essential commodities in the Valley, Jammu and Kashmir unit of CPI(M) on Sunday asked the government to review the conditions of patients in hospitals and ensure that the common man did not suffer in the prevailing condition.
"The recurrent reports of shortage of ration, cooking gas, kerosene oil and other food items require immediate attention of the government," CPI(M) state secretary M Y Tarigami said in a statement here.
"The government should also review the patient care in hospitals and make sure that they and their attendants do not suffer in the current situation," he said.
Making an appeal to the administration to address the grievances of people immediately, Tarigami said "due to restrictions and shutdowns, the people in various areas of the Valley are facing lack of essential commodities.
