Panthers to attend PM’s Kashmir meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 8:Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has decided to attend an all-party meet on Kashmir called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The party had boycotted the all-party meet convened by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah July 12, contending he had lost the “moral right to rule” as his “misgovernance had brought the state to a brink of disaster”. Almost 50 people have died and hundreds have been injured in violence in the Kashmir Valley since June 11.
“We will present our point of view before prime minister, regarding the situation in the state, why it went wrong and where it went wrong,” state party chief Balwant Singh Mankotia said in a release after a meeting of the party’s working committee.
The Panther Party’s legislature party leader Harshdev Singh was not present in the meeting.
