Saroori, Sham inspects construction work on Maira Mandriam bridge | | | EArly Times Report JAMMU, Aug 8:Minister for Road and Building Mr. G. M. Saroori and Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today inspected the pace of progress on construction work of 187 meter span balanced cantilever pre stressed concrete bridge at Maira Mandriam near Akhnoor to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.82 crore. The bridge is likely be completed before March 2011 . Saroori asked the engineers to ensure constant monitoring on the project to avoid delay in completion, besides checking the usage of qualitative material as per specifications. “There would be no compromise on quality of work,” the Minister said. He said that the bridge would provide road connectivity to a large population of the border Tehsil. Saroori emphasized upon engineers to keep pace with the latest technologies emerging in the field of civil engineering, adding that time has come to adopt these techniques in day to day work. Sharma also directed the engineers and executing agencies to complete the bridge as per the set specifications, adding that no compromise on quality of work would be tolerated. He directed the engineers to maintain the quality of work at every level and asked them to work with full dedication and ensure timely completion of the bridge.
