Billiards: Sumesh beat title holder Sohail to enter final | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 8: Beating the defending champion, Sohail Khalid, Sumesh Turki today made it into the final of senior billiards event in the 20th State Billiards and Snooker Championships underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here. Losing the opening frame, Sumesh controlled his nerves and managed a 3-2 win over his senior, who was holding the title for the last three years. Now, in the final, to be played on a later date, Sumesh shall take on Kamal Rohmetra. In the first semi-final, Kamal Rohmetra defeated Vishal Abrol 3-1 in best of five game. Losing opening frame, Kamal clinched the following three including a close third (100-93). Earlier, in the quarterfinals, played this morning, Vishal Abrol got walkover Lokesh Verma; Sumesh Turki defeated Mohit Mahajan 2-1. Sohail Khalid resigered a straight frame win over Ajay Pal Singh and Kamal Rohmetra awarded walkover after Kuldeep Sharma failed to report the venue.
