| Deputations call on Slathia at Summer Sectt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 9 : A number of deputations and individuals today called upon Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia, at Summer Secretariat, Jammu, to apprise him of their problems and demands as well.
Special Secretary, Summer Secretariat, Jammu, Mr. T. R. Sharma and other senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
The deputationists presented a charter of demands to the Minister and sought an immediate action on the same.
The problems and demands highlighted by the people included water scarcity, unscheduled power curtailment, benefits under various centrally and state sponsored schemes, regularization of contractual appointees, installation of poles and transformers, construction and widening of roads, construction of tube-wells and hand-pumps etc.
Mr. Slathia said that government is endeavoring a lot to provide better services to the people of every part of the state and emphasized the need of active cooperation of the common masses to supplement efforts of the administration in this regard.
The Minister assured the people that their grievances would be redressed within stipulated time frame.
