Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 9: The Congress led UPA government has opted for status quo in J&K, that means the present Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will continue to lead the NC-Congress led coalition government in the state and it really is the good news for the loyalists in the state unit of the congress and major section in the NC. Though this decision of the central govt has given a Sigh of relief to him and to his govt, but he still is fighting the ongoing crisis in Valley lonely. Since the trouble started in Kashmir, the two Advisors of the state Chief Minister have never made any appearance nor any statement was aired from them. The two advisors who have been given the rank of ministers were not seen with the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah when the latter needs them mostly. The definition of the advisor is to give advice to Chief Minister or to the govt on day to day basis, or in other words, advisor is the backbone of the Chief Minister on whose advice Chief Minister relies most regarding the political situation, development works and other affairs. But these two advisors were usually seen absent from the scene when they should have been shoulder to shoulder to Chief Minister. The absence of Advisors also took long to state govt to take any decision to thwart stone pelting incidents which took ugly turn and forced Chief Minister to leave for Delhi to seek assistance. Why these advisors were not seen with Chief Minister at the time of crisis, reason best known to them is also million dollar question. In one of the interview given to the National Channel, Omar Abdullah's father and Union Minister for Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah rightly said that Omar is fighting battle lonely. Omar did make some efforts to reach out to people by visiting hospital in Srinagar, but it was too late. The people have shouted slogans against him. In Leh tragedy, he himself took a wise decision and flew directly to affected areas, thus showed how to lead.
