1 killed, 3 Machail yatris among 10 hurt in landslide | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 09: While they were taking tea at a dhaba at Masoo Sogi near Paddar in Kishtwar today, a landslide occured as a result of which a villager was killed while 10 others, at least three of them Machail Mata pilgrims, survived with critical injuries. Police sources said some Machail Mata pilgrims and locals were taking tea at a dhaba at Masoo Sogi at about 4.15 pm when a mass of earth and rocks came sliding down the nearby hill and fell on the eatery. Roshan Lal, son of Dhanna Ram of Machail, was killed on the spot while at least 10 others, including dhaba owner Sant Ram, sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to a local hospital. Four of them were, however, referred to the Kishtwar district hospital following deterioration in their condition. Three of the injured are residents of Udhampur. Sources identified them as Ravi Kumar, Sham Lal Gandotra and his wife Meera Gandotra. Their condition was stated to be out of danger. When contacted, the Paddar DSP Mohan Lal Thakur said Roshan's body was yet to be pulled out of the rubble. He was acting as a guide of the pilgrims.
