| Cabinet grieves over loss of life, property in Leh | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 10:The Cabinet, which met here today, with the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in chair expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property in Leh due to the cloudbursts and flash floods.
The Cabinet also expressed concern over the damage caused by flash floods in many other parts of the State including Kargil.
It was decided that the Chief Minister will make an appeal to the Council of Ministers to donate one month’s or one week’s salary towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims in Leh and other parts of the state. Similar appeal will be made to legislators and Government employees to donate one week’s and one day’s salary respectively to augment the resources for relief and rehabilitation.
The Cabinet also approved transfer and posting of Satish Chander Sawhney, KAS, Additional District development Commissioner, Jammu as Municipal Commissioner, Jammu relieving Deputy Commissioner, Jammu of additional charge.
