BJP opposes political package to Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 10: While rejecting any form of political package to Kashmir the state unit of the BJP on Tuesday made it clear that it can never compromise on the issues of national importance and urged the centre and the state government to sternly deal with the law and order problem. Addressing a public rally in RS Pura area under its public awareness programme, launched to educate the public about the current situation in Kashmir and the failure of the NC-Congress coalition to check the anti-national forces, State BJP Chief Shamsher Singh Manhas said that BJP cannot compromise over the issues of national importance. “We are totally against any political package to the state as it has the law and problem, not political one”. He announced that different kind of programmes will be organized in different parts of the state to expose evil designs of the state government in the coming days. Manhas said BJP will expose anti-national forces in meeting with the PM.Earlier the state BJP leadership had declined the offer but on Tuesday when when Home Minister on behalf of PM, invited them they decided to to attend the meeting. While addressing the gathering Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that we are committed to save J&K from all types of anti-national forces which want to divide state on communal lines. He said, “BJP has all along struggled and sacrificed for safeguarding the national interests in the state and shall continue to struggle till the state is not fully integrated with rest of the country. Dr Nirmal Singh said that accession with India cannot be questioned and the state is an integral part of the country like other states. He appealed the masses to not get misled by the slogans of the Congress, NC or PDP but work towards strengthening security forces and patriotic people. We have to strengthen the democracy by all means and stand like a rock against all such forces which have been working to disintegrate the state at the decates of masters sitting across the border. Ashok Khajuria on this occasion said that the country has been ruled by the Congress for maximum period after independence and is the mother of all the problems being faced by the state. Party MLAs Jugal Kishore, Shyam Choudhary, Prof Gharu Ram and Durga Dass criticized the present NC coalition for adopting appeasement policy.
